Angle completes recruitment for key ovarian cancer study

Headline results are expected in the fourth quarter, investors were told

Angle PLC (LON:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY) said it completed the patient enrolment of 200 women for its ovarian cancer clinical verification study.

Scientists and doctors from the University of Rochester Medical Center, New York, will assess the ability of the company’s Parsortix system to detect the presence of ovarian cancer in women with a pelvic mass prior to surgery.

The liquid biopsy system will be used to harvest circulating tumour cell (CTC) for analysis with Angle's HyCEAD multiplex RNA platform as a simple blood test.

A predictive assay was more than 95% accurate in a previous evaluation.

Headline results from this latest study are expected in the fourth quarter of the year.

Chief executive and founder, Andrew Newland, said: "Completion of patient enrolment is a key step in this pivotal study towards demonstrating the capability of a Parsortix-based blood test to accurately detect the presence of ovarian cancer.

“Subject to the test performing as expected and securing the necessary accreditations of the company's clinical laboratories to run molecular assays, the timing of which is outside our direct control, we are targeting launch of this test around the end of the calendar year."
