Gatling Exploration Inc (CVE:GTR) (OTCQB:GATGF) has released more drill results from the Fernland deposit at its Larder gold project in Ontario, which are rapidly expanding the grade, continuity and footprint of the area.
Around 9,000 metres (m) of an ongoing 25,000m program have now been sunk at Fernland and the latest assays come from Zone 2 and include the highest metal factor to date at all of Larder - with an intercept of 200.7m at 1.5 grams per ton (g/t) gold, starting from a depth of just 3.3m hit in one hole.
The Fernland deposit has three main zones and strong, near-surface gold mineralization has been found in all of them, the company noted.

The drilling has yielded consistent grades over long intersections across all three zones, which combine for nearly 1 km in strike length, Jason Billan, CEO of Gatling noted in a statement.
"To date, our exploration team continues to see our Fernland deposit deliver drill results which have exceeded our expectations both from a size as well as grade perspective, laying the groundwork for this deposit to form a near surface component while remaining open at depth," he added.
"The deeper gold targets will be tested during the remaining 4,500m at Fernland, as we target high-grade chutes further at depth and plunging south-east towards Cheminis underground infrastructure that is located just 200m away at a depth of 310m below surface."
Drilling at Fernland continues to encounter gold mineralization concentrated within the upper 150m such as 29m of 2.4 g/t gold, 18.1m at a grade of 2.2 g/t gold, and 18.6m of 4.7 g/t gold, Gatling added.
The 3,370-hectare Larder project lies 7 kilometers west of the Kerr Addison mine, which produced 11 million ounces of gold. All parts of the property are accessible by truck or all-terrain vehicles on non-serviced roads and trails.
In September 2020, Gatling hailed what it called a "tremendous" milestone for the project, proving that it is home to a single, very large gold system. The firm drilled gold mineralization between Fernland and Cheminis, which meant it had connected all three deposits - Fernland, Cheminis and Bear- and established an impressive 4.5-kilometer strike length.
