Live Company confirms date for Pick ‘N Pay Cycle Tour

The group said the tour, which is the largest participation race in the world with up to 36,000 cyclists, will now take place in Cape Town on October 10

Live Company Group PLC (LON:LVCG) confirmed the new date for the Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour is October 10. The event was scheduled to take place in Cape Town, South Africa, in March.

The race is the largest participation race in the world with up to 36,000 cyclists taking part in normal times, the AIM-listed firm said, adding that this year's race will be slightly smaller due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions.

Live Company also said that Munster Zoo in Germany, which hosts its BrickLive Big Cats tour, is now open to the public.

"We are excited to announce that after many months of planning alongside the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust and local authorities, we can confirm that the Cape Town Cycle Tour presented by Pick n Pay will be taking place on October 10th”, said Bruce Parker-Forsyth, managing director of Live Company Sports and Entertainment Pty Limited, the company’s live sports, entertainment and music events division.

“This allows us to work with our client Pick n Pay as the Event Presenting Partner to stage a world-class event that supports the community while leveraging the brand and being Covid compliant, including the corporate hospitality village. Combined with the ongoing planning of the Formula E Cape Town, Cape Town Ocean Race Stopover and Wine Festivals, we have a busy 2021 and a packed events calendar for 2022", he added.
