PVW Resources Ltd (ASX:PVW) has started a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Jungle Well Gold Project within its broader Leonora Project in Western Australia aimed at upgrading the existing inferred resource estimate.
Around 2,500 metres of RC drilling is planned and this program, which is expected to take around two weeks, will also seek to extend and test for plunge components.
The company will also continue ground geophysics planning to utilise MLTEM and FLTEM ground surveys to test open conductors identified by previous explorers.
Near-surface oxide mineralisation
Shallow holes immediately north of the pit will test for near-surface oxide mineralisation beneath an existing stockpile, deeper holes to the north and south of the open pit are expected to aid in defining a plunge to the mineralisation, while it is hoped that a deeper hole beneath the pit will add to the existing resource.
Proposed hole JWP37 aims to test immediately beneath the existing open pit and has been oriented independently to access the dipping ore zone near the base of the open pit.

Ground geophysics ongoing
Following a positive assessment of previous explorers' ground geophysics and the identification of near-surface conductors, PVW recognised that ground geophysics will be an important component of ongoing exploration.
Conductors lie along the Jungle Well mineralised trend and along parallel trends to the east where the magnetic data maps a complex series of folded and faulted bedrock units.
Exploration activities will include further assessment of untested or poorly tested conductors - JEM3-10 and JEM2 (north).
In addition, follow-up activities will include FLTEM and/or drilling to test for sulphide-related mineralisation and more regional MLTEM along strike to follow-up the open JEM02 and JEM04 anomalies to the north of the current survey limits.
