Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) (FRA:8KM) has intersected zones of shallow high-grade gold mineralisation in initial aircore drilling at Eagle-Crow prospect within the Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) near Leonora in Western Australia with results of up to 8 metres at 7.90 g/t from 28 metres to the bottom of the hole.
The company has received 4-metre composite assay results from a recently completed wide-spaced aircore (AC) program at Eagle-Crow, which is near the cornerstone 311,000-ounce Bruno-Lewis deposit on the western side of the CGP.
Assays have been returned for 290 drill-holes and 13,261 metres of drilling from the Eagle-Crow program comprising 17,035 metres in 399 holes, with other results including:
- 4 metres at 8.31 g/t from 0 metres;
- 4 metres at 4.44 g/t from 0 metres;
- 4 metres at 4.25 g/t from 4 metres;
- 4 metres at 3.78 g/t from 40 metres; and
- 4 metres at 3.11 g/t from 24 metres.
The company is confident that the results indicate the potential for a developing gold discovery in this emerging area subject to further drilling.

The program has defined two parallel zones of mineralisation - highlighting the potential for an extensive, shallow gold discovery subject to further drilling.
Kin Mining managing director Andrew Munckton said: “Given the wide-spaced, reconnaissance and shallow nature of the drilling, these are excellent results considered in the context of the extensive soil geochemical anomaly and the historic workings and rock chip.
“Drilling so far indicates two distinct styles of mineralisation at Eagle-Crow – similar to what we see at the nearby Bruno-Lewis and the recently discovered Cardinia Hill deposits.
“The presence of two parallel mineralised zones and shallow high-grade domains that appear to extend for up to 1 kilometre in strike length each within a broader system that runs for up to 5 kilometres, all highlight the potential of the western side of the large Cardinia mineralised system.”

Targets similar to Cardinia Hill
The results have confirmed the mineralisation is the same style as other significant deposits at CGP including Bruno Lewis and Cardinia Hill.
Munckton said: “Our rigorous and systematic approach to exploration at Cardinia has already delivered a number of new high-grade discoveries over the past year – and we believe that Eagle-Crow could be a new addition to this list.
“We will await the results of the balance of the AC results before planning an initial phase of RC and diamond drilling to test below the AC results for the primary source of the mineralisation.
“We should also remember that Eagle-Crow is just one of several new targets which we have defined across the broader CGP.
“As we speak, RC drilling is underway on the Eastern Corridor to test seven recently identified targets which we believe have the potential to yield further high-grade discoveries with strong geological similarities to Cardinia Hill.”
Next steps
Results from the remaining AC drilling from the initial program, comprising another 109 holes for 3,774 metres, are expected to be returned from the assay laboratory in the next two weeks.
Once received, the company will begin the initial diamond and RC drilling to confirm orientation and extension of the shallow mineralisation below the oxide zone.
