Golden Rim Resources has diamond drill spinning at Kada Gold Project

The company also has three power auger rigs operating at Kada and a 15,000-metre auger drill program designed to delineate mineralised zones outside the Newmont gold resource area is progressing well with 12,552 metres completed.

Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR) has started a 2,500-metre diamond drilling program at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea focusing on the Newmont gold resource area.

The infill drilling program will comprise 2,500 metres of HQ diamond drilling, which is underway, and 4,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling which will begin shortly.

The company also has three power auger rigs operating at Kada and a planned 15,000-metre auger drilling program, designed to delineate mineralised zones outside the Newmont resource area, is progressing well with 1,128 holes for 12,552 metres completed.

Infill diamond drilling

Golden Rim’s managing director Craig Mackay said: “Golden Rim has commenced infill diamond drilling at Kada, focusing on the area where Newmont previously calculated a non-JORC gold resource.

“This infill drilling will allow us to deliver a maiden JORC-compliant mineral resource for Kada during the second half of 2021.”

Infill drilling along with the historical drilling will provide the company with an 80 x 80 metres drill pattern throughout the area where Newmont calculated a non-JORC gold resource in 2012 after completing nearly 34,000 metres of drilling.

Auger drilling program

The company is progressing well with a 15,000-metre power auger drilling program at Kada, aimed at finding gold mineralised saprolite outside the Newmont gold resource area and under the shallow laterite and soil cover, which lies across the bulk of the project area.

Golden Rim has three power auger rigs operating at Kada, with 1,128 holes for 12,552 metres completed to date.

Mackay said: “Our auger drilling at Kada is progressing very well and we have completed more than two-thirds of the planned program.”

Zones of intense quartz

Drilling continues to intersect zones of intense quartz-limonite mineralisation in saprolite beneath around 10 metres of laterite and soil cover, which is highly encouraging.

The results for the first batch of auger samples are expected shortly.

Mackay said: “We continue to discover quartz–limonite mineralisation in bedrock outside the area previously drilled by Newmont, which is highly encouraging, and our first assays are expected shortly.”
