Tocvan Ventures Corp (CSE:TOC) (FRA:TV3) reported Tuesday surface sampling results from its flagship Pilar gold-silver project in Mexico, which have provided drill targets ahead of a second phase program due to kick off this month.
In all, 207 rock chip samples were collected covering the entire property. At the new Triple Vein Zone target, values were returned over a 400 metres (m) strike length, Tocvan noted, with highlights including 4.5 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 735 g/t silver in a channel sample of quartz vein in an unmapped artisanal working.

Also found was 4.3 g/t gold and 96 g/t silver in a channel sample of oxidized brecciated andesite.
At the 4-Trench Extension target, 5.1 g/t gold and 142 g/t silver were recovered in a grab float sample along a vein strike, and 1.9 g/t gold and 178 g/t silver in a channel sample of oxidized quartz vein.
"The results released today confirm the new vein corridors recently identified by mapping are mineralized and carry similar grade to our Main Zone," said vice-president (VP) of exploration Brodie Sutherland.
"Our next phase of drilling will begin later this month. Not only do we have follow-up work to continue at our Main Zone with the recent surface exploration results, we have no shortage of targets to test, especially along the 4 Trench Extension and the new Triple Vein Zone."
Three zones of mineralization have been identified in the northwest part of Pilar from historic surface work and drilling and are referred to as the Main Zone, North Hill and 4 Trench.
Tocvan owns 100% of the asset and was attracted initially to the property by the amount of successful drilling on a very concentrated area.
This spans 17,700m from surface to a maximum depth of just 150m, leading the company to believe the property hosts an at-surface deposit, which is amenable to open-pit mining.
