Redcentric completes sloughing off of legacy businesses

Thales will pay Redcentric a fixed consideration of £5.75mln for the "assets and know-how" required for the provision of maintenance services to four EDF nuclear power stations.

Redcentric PLC (LON:RCN) has agreed to sell to Thales UK assets providing maintenance services to four EDF nuclear power stations.

Thales will pay Redcentric a fixed consideration of £5.75mln, with £3.5mln due at the end of this month with the rest due on September 30.

Redcentric’s maintenance services contract with EDF expired at the end of last month.

“ The company's contract with EDF was non-core within the Redcentric business as the services provided did not relate to either telecommunications or IT solutions. The contract was inherited as part of the Calyx Limited acquisition in 2016 and this sale completes the restructuring of the company's historical acquisitions,” said Peter Brotherton, the chief executive officer of Redcetric.

“All of the company's product offerings are now core to the business and we operate on one physical network, with one network platform, an optimised data centre portfolio and fully integrated operational systems,” he added.

The information technology (IT)_ managed services provider said it traded in line with expectations in the year to the end of March, with net debt of roughly £15.6mln being better than the board had expected.
