Moho Resources lifts East Sampson Dam gold potential with new high-grade zones identified

The Phase 2 RC drilling program has discovered new high-grade mineralisation at the northern end of the prospect.

Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has located additional high-grade gold zones at the northern end of the East Simpson Dam (ESD) prospect during phase 2 reverse circulation (RC) infill and extension resource definition drilling.

The final 20 holes contain a number of mineralised intervals and new mineralised zones that extend high-grade gold mineralisation a further 40 metres north along strike, with results including:

  • 6 metres at 11.03 g/t gold from 62 metres, including 1-metre at 43.5 g/t from 64 metres, 1-metre at 10.7 g/t from 63 metres and 1-metre at 8.8 g/t from 62 metres;
  • 4 metres at 1.82 g/t from 42 metres, including 1-metre at 5.22 g/t from 45 metres;
  • 2 metres at 3.0 g/t from 43 metres;
  • 3 metres at 2.95 g/t from 19 metres, including 1-metre at 5.2 g/t from 19 metres and 1-metre at 2.38 g/t from 21 metres; and
  • 1-metre at 7.05 g/t from 42 metres.

Extending gold mineralisation

The Phase 2 RC drilling program has discovered new high-grade mineralisation at the northern end of the prospect and this area - as well as the southern extent - require additional drilling to increase drill density and close off the mineralisation in both directions.

Moho managing director Shane Sadleir said: “Moho’s exploration team continues to make excellent progress at East Sampson Dam.

“The latest RC drill results extend gold mineralisation down plunge at the southern end of the prospect and highlight the potential to discover additional gold mineralisation at the northern end of the prospect.”

The company is confident there is a strong probability that additional drilling will further expand the mineralisation into fresh material to the south and if a suitable gold resource is established, it could provide important cash flow for the company.

Looking forward

The program has clarified the extent and tenor of gold mineralisation at the prospect and this improved understanding of grade distribution will flow through to resource modelling currently underway.

However, additional drilling is warranted to the north and south to further explore and define new mineralisation discovered.

The company will now:

  • Complete metallurgical test-work with master composite analysis - Q2 2021;
  • Undertake resource modelling and JORC 2012 mineral resource estimation – Q2 2021;
  • Commence a scoping study – Q2 2021; and
  • Commence aircore drilling of historic auger gold anomalies and geophysical targets northeast of ESD along the Tyrells trend – H1 2021.
