Pires Investments lifted by news from Getvisibility

Pires Investments PLC (LON:PIRI) advanced 6.6% to 16.1p on the back of an announcement by Getvisibility, in which it has a stake.

Getvisibility, an artificial intelligence data management company, has recently announced that it had signed a global distribution agreement with StarLink, a leading distributor of security-related technologies.

This distribution agreement is an extension of an existing arrangement between Getvisibility and StarLink that covered the US. The partnership with StarLink has resulted in several proof of concept implementations across large financial institutions and utilities service providers across the Middle East.

12.40pm: Zephyr swept higher by acquisition news

Zephyr Energy PLC (LON:ZPHR) headed 11% north to 2.278p after it raised funds to finance the Paradox lateral well and to make some acquisitions.

The group raised £10mln of new equity and struck a deal to acquire a package of producing wells in the Bakken Formation, in North Dakota, USA.

Some US$3.5mln of proceeds will, meanwhile, fund the drilling of the proposed State 16-2 CC LN lateral appraisal well, designed to establish production in the Paradox basin portfolio, in Utah.

11.45am: Cerillion Technologies bags biggest ever contract win

Cerillion Technologies Limited (LON:CER) was 9.7% higher after announcing its largest-ever contract win.

The billing, charging and customer relationship management software outfit said the contract is worth US$18.4mln over 10 years and is with a full-service network operator in Latin America.

This contract, together with a smaller £2.7m extension recently secured with an existing customer in Europe, is anticipated to result in the Company exceeding current management expectations for pre-tax profit in the current financial year ending 30 September 2021.

10.50am: Critical Metals teases the market

Critical Metals PLC (LON:CRTM) shot up 13% to 17.75p after it revealed it is engaged in early-stage discussions regarding potential future transactions.

The announcement from the mining investment firm came alongside its interim results.

The company posted a net loss of £152,111 for the six months to end December 2020 versus a loss of £17,437 in the year-earlier period. In September the company was admitted to the main market of the London Stock Exchange, raising gross proceeds of £0.8mln.

9.55am: 88 Energy pumped by discovery at the Merlin-1 well

88 Energy Ltd (LON:88E) added a fifth to its value at 2.1p after an update covering its operations in Alaska.

The company said logging-while-drilling data indicated multiple potentially hydrocarbon-bearing zones in the Merlin-1 well in Alaska.

The company added that wireline logging will commence shortly to confirm whether mobile hydrocarbons are present. It highlighted that in Merlin-1 the Nanushuk formation, which contains the primary targets, was confirmed in the well.

9.00am: Zegona and Destiny Pharma battle it out for top spot on movers list

Zegona Communications PLC (LON:ZEG) jumped 31% to 124p on the back of takeover news concerning a company in which it has a 21.4% stake.

The private equity funds KKR, Providence and Cinven have launched a tender offer to acquire Euskaltel for €11.17 a share, a 27% premium to the 30-day volume-weighted average price of Euskatel,

Zegona is the lead shareholder in Euskaltel, the Spanish telecoms firm, with 38.3mln shares.

Destiny Pharma PLC (LON:DEST), up 32% at 210p, was the top riser in London after it announced positive trial results.

The company unveiled encouraging top-line results from its Phase 2b clinical study testing its XF-73 nasal gel.

The gel is being investigated as a new product for the prevention of the incidence of post-surgical infections such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), associated with open wounds and broken skin.
