Tempest Minerals encouraged by initial drilling results and forward progress at Messenger Project

The company has completed 23 holes for 2,100 metres in an area in the Yalgoo Region known historically to bear high-grade gold.

Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) (FRA:LIF) continues to deliver encouraging results on the heels of discovery at Warriedar Project in the December quarter of 2020, with promising initial results from ongoing drilling program at the Messenger Project Western Australia.

The company has completed 23 holes for 2,100 metres at Messenger's Dally (gold) and Wally (base metal) targets with thick quartz veining and alteration present in most drill holes and along a strike length of more than 2 kilometres.

This quartz veining is believed to be similar to the mineralisation historically mined at very high grades (up to 10 ounces of gold per tonne) at the surface with several drill holes completed below known mineralisation at the Messengers Patch mining centre.

Warriedar discovery

This current drilling program is in addition to drilling in December 2020 which yielded a gold discovery at the Warriedar West Project.

The initial drilling program confirmed the widespread presence of gold accompanied by zones of quartz vein swarms with grades of up to 5 g/t intersected in addition to major new extensions to the Yalgoo greenstone belt under shallow cover throughout the Wee Lode area.

Interest in exploration for intrusive related gold (IRG) and orogenic gold mineralisation is increasing stemming from high profile discoveries with similar styles such as the world-class Hemi discovery by De Grey Mining Limited (ASX:DEG) (OTCMKTS:DGMLF) (FRA:DGD) in Western Australia and Northern Star Resources Ltd’s (ASX:NST) (OTCMKTS:NESRF) 10-million-ounce Pogo Mine in Alaska.

Next steps

The company expects to receive the assay results from Messenger drilling in quarter two of 2021.

Follow-up drilling is also being planned at Messenger, War West and other projects while the company is continuing with fieldwork.
