CO2 GRO Inc (CVE:GROW) (OTCQB:BLONF) (FRA:4021) announced a commercial feasibility project of its CO2 Delivery Solutions system with Mountainview Nursery, macadamia grower in South Africa, through CO2 GRO’s South Africa-based marketing partner PharmaCrop Pty.
CO2 GRO said the primary focus of the commercial feasibility project is to assess the CO2 Delivery Solutions' effects on accelerating the growth of macadamia tree seedlings in the nursery.
“Our recent partnership with PharmaCrop has led to this first open-air outdoor commercial feasibility in South Africa. High-value crops grown in open air farms are a much larger market than greenhouses that PharmaCrop is pursuing throughout South Africa,” CO2 GRO Vice President of Sales & Strategic Alliances Aaron Archibald said in a statement.

Archibald added: “A successful commercial feasibility at the Mountain Views facility could open not only a new market in South Africa but also globally.”
PharmaCrop's Principal Jason Field also commented, stating: “South Africa's high-value macadamia market is expanding rapidly and is one of the target markets to sell CO2 Delivery Solutions systems.”
“Macadamia trees produce high-value nuts and are expensive to grow and maintain. Reducing the time to transplant nursery trees to the mature section can dramatically increase the value of a macadamia farm, which can take up to seven years before realizing returns,” he added.
CO2 GRO noted the commercial feasibility will be conducted in a section of Mountain View's macadamia tree seedling nursery utilizing a custom-built support structure for hanging misters and piping.
CO2 Gro's CO2 Delivery Solutions helps all greenhouses achieve up to 30% more plant yield consistently throughout the year. In addition, aqueous CO2 misting offers pathogen Perimeter Protection for plants by slowing the spread of micro pathogens such as E. coli and powdery mildew.
The company’s 2021 target market is the 50 billion square feet of greenhouses and covered cultivation facilities globally – 80% of which cannot use CO2 gassing due to heat venting, porosity or CO2 usage cost.
