Samarkand Group PLC (LON:SMK) made a healthy start to trading on its first day of dealings on the Aquis Exchange.
Shares in the cross-border trade finance group were being quoted at 123.5p, up 7%, in early dealings giving a market value of around £63.8mln.
Samarkand raised £17mln at 115p through an oversubscribed fundraise ahead of the listing, which was scaled up from an initial target of £10mln to accommodate the demand.
Samarkand said the proceeds of the fundraising will be used primarily to further develop the functionality of its Nomad platform as well as expand its business development activities and make further strategic acquisitions.
