Maximus Resources bolsters board with strategic planning and engineering experience through chairman appointment

The board considers Zaninovich brings significant hands-on experience in strategic planning, mining feasibility studies, project development and operational readiness.

Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR) (FRA:M5F) (NYSE:MMS) has strengthened its board with strategic planning and engineering experience following the appointment of Steve Zaninovich as independent non-executive chairman.

Zaninovich is a highly qualified and experienced engineer with more than 25 years' project management experience in Australia and internationally.

He was previously project director for Tawana Resources with responsibility for delivery of the Bald Hill Lithium Project in Western Australia, followed by commissioning and handover.

Prior to that, he was vice president of major projects and part of the executive management team at Teranga Gold Corporation following its acquisition of Gryphon Minerals, after spending five years as the latter's chief operating officer.

Previous experience

Zaninovich is currently a non-executive director of Canyon Resources Ltd (ASX:CAY), Mako Gold Ltd (ASX:MKG) and Sarama Resources Ltd (CVE:SWA).

He was previously executive director with Indiana Resources Ltd (ASX:IDA) and Lycopodium Limited (ASX:LYL) and held non-executive director roles with Centaurus Metals Limited (ASX:CTM), Gryphon Minerals and Orway Minerals Consultants.

Maximus believes Zaninovich brings significant hands-on experience in strategic planning, mining feasibility studies, project development and operational readiness.

These skills are considered invaluable in supporting the company’s planned acceleration of exploration and mining studies across its Spargoville granted mining leases.

To remain non-exec director

The company acknowledges the commitment and guidance that Gerard Anderson has provided over the past two years as acting non-executive chairman.

Anderson will remain as a non-executive director of Maximus assisting with his 43 years’ experience in exploration, mine and resource geology.
