Pantoro Ltd (ASX:PNR) has received additional broad, high-grade gold assay results from Green Lantern deposit at the 50%-owned Norseman Project which continue to expand the Scotia Mining Centre.
The deposit presents an extensive zone of near-surface gold mineralisation to the southeast of the existing Scotia open pit with additional drilling focused on definition of a maiden mineral resource estimate.
More than 23,000 metres have been drilled in 203 holes to date, with drilling continuing to confirm, infill and extend the wide ore-grade intersections previously reported.
Best results from the new intersections include:
- 11 metres at 2.53 g/t gold from 93 metres;
- 12.45 metres at 3.61 g/t including 4.3 metres at 8.22 g/t from 78.25 metres;
- 14 metres at 2.32 g/t from 56 metres;
- 11.65 metres at 2.91 g/t from 78.7 metres;
- 10.5 metres at 4.76 g/t including 3.47 metres at 11.39 g/t from 56.5 metres; and
- 34 metres at 2.01 g/t including 3 metres at 9.81 g/t from 82 metres;
Substantial near-surface mineralisation has now been identified over a continuous strike length of around 800 metres, with mineralisation remaining open to the south and down dip.
“Shaping up to be major discovery”
Notably, scout drilling up to 1.6 kilometres south of the Scotia open pit has confirmed continuation of high-grade mineralisation with 1-metre at 9.84 g/t in initial results.
The company is continuing its drilling program in the area with a focus on near-term addition to the mineral resource and ore reserves in the Scotia mining area.

“Our understanding of the structural setting driving this mineralisation is advancing rapidly, positioning Pantoro to continue to substantially grow resources in the area.”
Green Lantern drilling continues
Infill drilling is ongoing at Green Lantern with additional step-out scout drilling to assess the southern extensions also underway.
Diamond drilling has also commenced to assess the ore zones in more detail in advance of a maiden mineral resource estimate.
Structural interpretation of the deposit reveals north striking mineralised corridors with cross-cutting northwest structures.
The structural model is being utilised to assist with drill targeting at both Green Lantern and in the wider Scotia mining area.
Green Lantern lies around 250 metres to the southeast of the Scotia Pit and is open at depth and along strike to the south.
Scotia mineral resource estimate
Historic production recorded from the Scotia mine via open pit and underground mining from 1987-1996 was 811,000 tonnes at 5.9 g/t gold for 155,000 ounces.
Scotia hosts a number of mineral resource areas in close proximity and several zones where high-grade mineral occurrences have not yet been classified.
The current mineral resource at Scotia is estimated to contain 2.43 million tonnes at 5.30 g/t gold for 413,000 ounces.
Pantoro has committed to a large-scale exploration and resource extension program at Scotia and expects drilling to continue in the area for at least the next six to 12 months.
