Alpine 4 Holdings Inc (OTCQB:ALPP) has said it is bringing on board retired US Air Force Technical Sargent Nathan Grier to work with its Vayu (US) Inc unmanned aerial systems subsidiary.
Grier is the former programs director of the Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS)/Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (s-UAS)/Nuclear Convoy for the US Air Force, where he established a UAV lab to research and test C-sUAS and sUAS technology projects.
As a subject matter expert on C-sUAS and sUAS, Grier trained new pilots to fly the models and authored C-sUAS literature used by all US Nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Wings.

In a statement Thursday, Alpine 4 called Grier “the most well-known sUAS and C-sUAS expert in the Security Forces Community.”

Vayu builds high-performance vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) hybrid propulsion-based, autonomous aircraft.
Kent Wilson, CEO of Vayu’s parent company Alpine 4, noted that Grier “adds a valuable and unique facet to the Vayu talent offering. His background as a US Air Force Sergeant adds an invaluable depth of experience to the A4 Aerospace family of companies when representing Alpine 4 before our US Military customers. In addition, he has experience as a trained flight officer and pilot of the Impossible Aerospace US-1 drone and was actively involved in bringing the US-1 to the US Airforce.”
