Klondike Gold Corp (CVE:KG) (OTCPINK:KDKGF) (FRA:LBDP) unveiled encouraging drill results from its Lone Star zone on the 586 square kilometers (sq km) Klondike District project in Yukon, ahead of a maiden resource estimate planned for 2022.
The latest assays from last year's phase 4 diamond drilling show strong intervals of near-surface gold, both within and outside the currently defined mineralized shell at Lone Star.

"The best holes reported today target gaps in the Lone Star Zone central area mineralization model," said Peter Tallman, Klondike Gold CEO.
"Other drill assays reported today from outside the current extent of our Lone Star Zone mineralized envelope show there are excellent opportunities to significantly expand in all directions, including at depth," he added.
"We have an abundance of targets to test with our 2021 drilling that will build toward our goal of completing a maiden resource estimate, and the team is excited to get started on this year's fieldwork."
Highlights from the 30 Lone Star holes included 36.55 meters (m) at 1.66 grams per ton (g/t) gold from 7.75m downhole in one hole, and 13.40m of 1.18 g/t of the yellow metal from 0.60m downhole and 15m at 1.43 g/t of gold from 36m downhole in another.
Four holes also tested an anomaly 1.5km west of the central Lone Star Zone and hit extensive carbonate - fuchsite alteration, the company noted.
The company's Klondike District gold project targets gold associated with district scale faults along the 55km length of the famous Klondike Goldfields placer district.
