Tissue Regenix says Texas expansion plans are on track

Work thus far has focused on relocating distribution operations and frozen tissue storage

Tissue Regenix PLC (LON:TRX) said the initial phase of its expansion at a site next to its existing operation in San Antonio, Texas, is complete.

Work focused on relocating distribution operations and frozen tissue storage, creating a more efficient operating space at the new 21,000 square-foot facility.

It also provides triple the freezer capacity, allowing the company to hold more donor tissue onsite.

Investors were told that the focus has now turned to the development of two additional clean rooms at the existing San Antonio site as well as the expansion space for supporting departments.

Completion of this tranche of the reorganisation, which would mark the end of phase-one of Tissue Regenix’s programme, is expected during the first half.

Chief executive Daniel Lee said: "The addition of our new facility, adjacent to our original site, is welcome as it provides the group the opportunity to grow with added flexibility.

“Our choice to do this in phases was advantageous by enabling us to be efficient with our capital and plan our expansion in line with the challenges our industry has faced with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are confident that demand exists to justify these capacity expansions and are looking forward to updating shareholders as the expansion project progresses."
