CytoDyn Inc (OTCQB:CYDY) said it has appointed Christopher P. Recknor as its chief operating officer to assist the senior management team in defining and implementing the company’s overall business strategy and clinical development priorities, along with the requisite timelines.
Recknor joined the biotechnology firm as vice president of clinical development in August 2020, before which, he served as a principal investigator in over 100 clinical trials for numerous global pharmaceutical companies including Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:AMGN) (FRA:AMG), AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) (NASDAQ:AZN) (FRA:ZEG), Eli Lilly & Co (NYSE:LLY) (FRA:LLY), GlaxoSmithKline PLC (LON:GSK) (NYSE:GSK) (FRA:GS7), Merck & Co Inc (NYSE:MRK), Novartis and Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) (FRA:PFE).

With his broad experience in clinical operations, Dr Recknor will effectively accelerate the evaluation of several indications in our pipeline," CytoDyn president and chief executive Nader Pourhassan said in a statement.
CytoDyn is currently developing leronlimab, a treatment that works by mitigating what is known as the cytokine storm, a hyperactive immune response that can cause inflammation, fatigue and, in severe cases, organ failure.
