Guild Esports PLC (LON:GILD) said it won its first major trophy after its four Fortnite pro-players placed first, second and eighth in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) European Grand Finals on the 13-14 March.
The esports firms’ team member Henrik Mclean won first place as part of a three-man squad, while fellow members Nikolaj Andreas Frøslev and Anas El-Abd came second as members of another trio and Tai Starčič secured eighth place.

The final standings mean all four members of Guild’s Fortnite roster finished in the top ten, allowing the company to clinch its first European trophy with combined winnings of the four players totalling US$260,000.
Guild said the results have cemented it at the top of the European Fortnite Power Rankings, a position it has held for the last two months, adding that Mclean, Frøslev and El-Abd have auto-qualified for next season’s European Grand Finals.
The company also said that its Valorant roster has secured one of the six spots in the finals of the Valorant Masters EU Tournament, which is due to take place on March 21, after winning their elimination match last weekend. They will be contesting a total prize pool of US$150,000.
"In just a few months, Guild has established itself as a credible new force in esports performance. Our Fortnite team were brilliant throughout the FNCS tournament and have emerged as the top-ranked roster in Europe, which is an outstanding achievement. Our other teams are also going from strength-to-strength and the Valorant roster's strong performance in the Masters has put them within grasp of a major title victory”, Guild’s executive chairman Carleton Curtis said in a statement.
"Our team success provides our pro-players with significant prize money and more importantly will ramp-up our global fanbase and tribal loyalty to the Guild brand. We have established great momentum and look forward to delivering world-class performances from all our teams in the future", he added.
Shares in the company were steady at 6p in early trading on Tuesday.
