Royal Mail PLC (LON:RMG), riding the wave of increased online shopping during the lockdown, is to trial Sunday deliveries.
The parcels and letters deliverer said a number of retailers are participating in the trial.
Several other couriers already make Sunday deliveries, while it would not be the first time Royal Mail has tested the water on Sunday deliveries; it gave the idea a whirl back in 2014 within the M25 orbital motorway area but elected not to switch to a seven days a week operation.
It appears that the change in shopping habits and the improved profits outlook they have bestowed upon Royal Mail have prompted a change of heart.

“The last year has reset so many customer expectations and the desire for even more convenient and even more frequent parcel deliveries has certainly been one of them,” said Nick Landon, the chief commercial officer of Royal Mail.
The formerly taxpayer-owned company is building a second parcel delivery hub in Daventry, Northamptonshire, which will enable the group to process an additional one million parcels a day.
The Royal Mail was effectively brought into being by King Charles I of England as he allowed public access to a royal private service. we all know what happened to him. @SahilBloom - you are not the only one capable of producing these little gems!
