Mako Gold intersects further wide high-grade gold at Tchaga prospect on path to maiden resource

Extensive shallow and continuous mineralisation has been identified in drilling to date at the Tchaga prospect.

Mako Gold Ltd (ASX:MKG) has intersected further wide high-grade gold during ongoing drilling at Tchaga prospect within the flagship Napié Project in Côte d’Ivoire enhancing the company's plan to outline a maiden resource at the prospect.

Results from 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes and four diamond drill (DD) holes provide further encouragement and shares have been up to 10% higher to 10.5 cents in early trade.

The purpose of this program is to advance the prospect towards a maiden resource estimation while widening and extending the mineralised lodes.

Intersections with internal high-grade intervals were returned from stacked zones within the maiden resource target area at Tchaga.

Notable results include 14 metres at 1.04 g/t gold from 73 metres and 30 metres at 1.57 g/t from 103 metres, including 1-metre at 7.47 g/t from 112 metres and 1-metre at 8.75 g/t from 132 metres.

“Solid drill intersections”

Managing director Peter Ledwidge said: “Ongoing drilling at the Tchaga prospect continues to deliver solid drill intersections and confirm the continuity of mineralisation as we move towards our maiden resource.

“We are pleased to see consistent mineralisation as we drill along strike and down-dip along mineralised lodes, thereby contributing to the growth of the Tchaga prospect.

“We are encouraged that three of the four DD pre-collars intersected significant mineralisation in the upper RC part of the holes and look forward to receiving the assays of the DD diamond tails as we test the mineralised lodes at greater depth, as well as other drill results on Tchaga, Gogbala and Tchaga East.”

Other results include 5 metres at 7.52 g/t gold from 156 metres, including 3 metres at 11.15 g/t from 157 metres and 10 metres at 2.54 g/t from 140 metres.

Four diamond holes pending

Mineralisation identified in drilling to date at Tchaga extends as stacked lenses, oriented SW-NE over a strike of greater than 1-kilometre and more than a width of up to 500 metres.

All lodes remain open along strike to the northeast and the southwest, as well as at depth.

Mineralised lodes are also open to the north-west and potential exists to identify additional parallel, stacked, gold-bearing lodes.

Four DD holes were completed to extend mineralisation further at depth on broad spaced sections, however, assays for these holes remain pending.

Two drill rigs remain operational at Napié focused on infill and extensional drilling at the Tchaga prospect.
