Benchmark Metals releases more encouraging drill results from AGB zone at Lawyers

"The company awaits additional results from AGB that could increase the total tonnage in this zone. This area still remains open in all directions for expansion drilling in 2021"

Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQB:CYRTF) (FRA:87CA) has hailed more good drill results from the AGB zone at its flagship Lawyers project in British Columbia, where near surface gold-silver mineralization over more than 650 metres (m) of strike and to a depth of 270m has now been outlined.

"This growing zone has the potential to provide open-pitable gold and silver ounces that will add substantial ounces to the upcoming mineral resource estimate," said CEO John Williamson, in a statement on Wednesday.

"The company awaits additional results from AGB that could increase the total tonnage in this zone. This area still remains open in all directions for expansion drilling in 2021."

One hole returned, from surface, an intercept of 122m at 1.30 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 32.16 g/t silver, the company noted. This mineralization is 175m south of historical underground workings at AGB.

Another hole tested the deeper extent of the AGB zone, below the 2019 exploration modelled pit shell.

Both bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization were intercepted in this hole, including 55m of 1.61 g/t gold and 14.04 g/t silver.

Benchmark is focused on developing the substantial resource potential of its huge Lawyers asset, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia.

In January this year, the company said it aimed to issue a new mineral resource estimate for the project in the first quarter this year and a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) in the second quarter. It also anticipates a fully funded C$25-30 million exploration and drilling program to be carried out this year.

On February 10, more positive drill assays were reported from the AGB zone around 3km north east of Cliff Creek, which, the company said, augured well for a first bulk tonnage resource estimate, which will cover the Cliff Creek, Dukes Ridge and AGB zones.
