TNT Mines Ltd (ASX:TIN) has had a program of work approved with upcoming drilling consisting of 40 holes for 5,000 metres to test for high-grade extensions to the Reids Ridge gold system at the Warriedar Project in Western Australia.
The drilling is expected to commence in 4-6 weeks once a drill rig is secured with the program to take in Reids Ridge as well as the Mt Laws prospect.
These plans follow the company completing phase 1 drilling at the Eureka Project near Kalgoorlie, drilling 11,441 metres from 89 holes with assay results expected by early April.
TNT plans to start geological modelling and interpretation for a second phase of drilling at Eureka immediately after the Reids Ridge drill program is completed.
Reids Ridge objectives
At Reids Ridge, a series of holes have been designed to intersect the interpreted down-dip extension of the known mineralisation at the base of the existing Reids Ridge mine, where to date very little exploration below a depth of 150 metres has been carried out.
Mineralisation at Reids Ridge is hosted in a NE-SW trending sub-vertical fault structure and associated with intense silicification and sulphidation up to 2.5 metres in width with the strike extent currently unknown.
The fault can be mapped at a surface over 2.5 kilometres in strike extent and hosts several other gold occurrences including the Commodore mine 600 metres north of the Reids Ridge mine.
Mt Laws exploration
As part of the upcoming program, the Mt Laws occurrence will be tested along strike to the east and west of previously completed drilling.
The mineralisation at Mt Laws is associated with contact between a thin BIF unit and the surrounding dolerite.
RC drilling completed by Norwest Minerals (ASX:NWM) at the main Mt Laws prospect returned 4 metres at 3.48 g/t gold, 2 metres at 3.32 g/t and 2 metres at 3.09 g/t which TNT Mines believes warrant follow-up work.
