MelodyVR Group PLC (LON:MVR) said its name change to Napster Group PLC (LON:NAPS) will take place tomorrow, 9 March.
The virtual reality entertainment company paid US$26.3mln for the music streaming service last August, with the music file-sharing pioneer having more than doubled user numbers last year to 5.7mln.
"The change of name to Napster Group PLC signals another step in the development of our company," said Anthony Matchett, co-founder and chief executive of the AIM-listed company.
"Over the coming year we will launch our new music platform combining the best original and exclusive content with the most extensive streamed music library on the planet at its core. Our change of name signals the start of an exciting new era in our company's development and we look forward to sharing our progress over the coming months."
The next step for Napster is to launch a subscription service with a monthly fee.
