Loncor Resources Inc (TSE:LN) (OTCQX:LONCF) (FSE:LO51) has revealed encouraging results from its current drilling program at the Adumbi deposit on the Imbo project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The company said that it had intersected 43.1 metres grading 1.7 grams per ton (g/t) gold; 0.8 metres grading 21.8 g/t gold and 15 metres grading 3.6 g/t gold, including 3.1 metres grading 13.3 g/t gold.
Loncor president Peter Cowley told investors that the company continues to be impressed with the drill results from Adumbi.

“All four completed infill holes within the open pit shell have intersected significant gold mineralization with an improvement in grade and thickness compared to the previous block model, and further studies will now be undertaken to quantify this increase in terms of mineral resources within the open pit shell,” Cowley said in a statement.
Toronto-based Loncor is hoping to outline additional mineral resources at Adumbi to its current inferred mineral resource of 2.5 million ounces of gold. Its 84.7%-owned Imbo project contains the Adumbi, Kitenge and Manzako deposits, with inferred mineral resources of 30.7 million tonnes grading 2.5 g/t gold.
Loncor said that it is now focusing on drilling the downdip and down plunge extensions below the open pit shell where the gold mineralization remains open. The firm is awaiting assay results from the deepest core hole of the drilling campaign, it added.
Another two holes are currently being drilled on the property.
