Oklo Resources results of up to 42.6 g/t gold extend mineralisation at Seko in Mali

The drilling program is focused on defining the oxide zone along a previously outlined extensive oxide-hosted gold trend in advance of finalising the maiden mineral resource estimate.

Oklo Resources Ltd (ASX:OKU) (FRA:JYA) has received new high-grade assay results of up to 1-metre at 42.6 g/t gold that enhance and extend mineralisation at Seko within its flagship Dandoko Gold Project in west Mali, Africa.

Six diamond (DD) holes and 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes completed in the ongoing 2021 drilling campaign at SK1 have continued to intersect high-grade gold mineralisation.

The 42.6 g/t result in SK1 North infill drilling was within 3 metres at 17.8 g/t which in turn was within 14 metres at 4.17 g/t gold from 155 metres.

Hanging wall lode extended

A strong result from SK1 South step-out drilling was 5 metres at 1.36 g/t from 61 metres, including 5 metres at 5.34 g/t that included 1-metre at 13.60 g/t in hole RDSK21-104.

This hole has extended the emerging hanging wall lode down dip from a previous shallow gold intersection of 10 metres at 4.04 g/t from 11 metres.

The hanging wall lode is associated with a wide zone of altered and deformed, brecciated sediments that averages 1 g/t gold over 57 metres from a downhole depth of 39 metres and follow-up drilling at depth is in progress.

Assay results from reconnaissance shallow aircore (AC) drilling also confirm further growth opportunities near Seko for follow-up evaluation.

These include:

  • 17 metres at 1.02 g/t from 32 metres, including 4 metres at 2.75 g/t, to the immediate southwest of SK1 South; and
  • 17 metres at 0.64 g/t from 33 metres, including 6 metres at 1.13 g/t, around 1 kilometre south of SK3.

“Highly encouraged by wide zone”

Oklo managing director Simon Taylor said: “We are highly encouraged by the wide zone of hydrothermal alteration emerging within the hanging wall at SK1 South associated with medium to high grade gold mineralisation.

“With the resource definition drilling program now complete, we remain on track to deliver our maiden mineral resource estimate during March.”

Shares have been as much as 9% higher intra-day to A$0.175.

Ongoing exploration

Reconnaissance AC drilling is ongoing, testing additional targets near Seko identified through a combination of previous auger geochemical drilling, induced polarisation (IP) geophysical surveys and geological mapping.

Regional programs are also commencing on the Kandiole, Kouroufing, Sari and Kossaya licences.
