Benchmark Metals identifies six high-priority drill targets for this year at Lawyers project

The targets are at the Marmot, Marmot East, MGrid, Gifford's Edge, Lala and Silver Pond zones at the huge property in British Columbia

Benchmark Metals Inc (CVE:BNCH) (OTCQB:CYRTF) said it has identified six high-priority targets at its Lawyers gold-silver project in British Columbia, which will be drill tested this year.

These are at the Marmot, Marmot East, MGrid, Gifford's Edge, Lala and Silver Pond zones at the huge property in the-called Golden Horseshoe area of Canada.

The areas have already displayed significant gold-in-soil anomalies and high-grade samples over large areas, underlining the potential to discover more mineralization, the company noted.

"Over 60% of the 140km2 package remains unexplored and/or under-explored providing potential for additional discoveries across the +20 kilometre long, mineralized gold-silver system," Benchmark's CEO John Williamson told investors in a statement on Wednesday.

"Testament to this are the new gold-silver targets that have provided high-grade results at surface and very encouraging drill holes at the Marmot Zone," he added.

At Marmot, Benchmark wants to expand the gold-silver mineralization already seen over a 2 kilometre (km) by 3 km surface expression. One hole there has already hit an intercept of 101.00 metres (m) at a grade of 0.82 grams per ton (g/t) gold-equivalent (AuEq).

Williamson also highlighted that the six high-priority targets exhibit the same types of alteration and mineralization observed at another key area at the project, Cliff Creek, which lies 3km to the northwest.

At Cliff Creek, the company has already defined a bulk-tonnage target in the range of 1.68 to 1.92 million ounces (Moz) of gold equivalent at an average grade ranging from 1.71-1.73 g/t gold equivalent.

As well as the six drill targets, Benchmark said it has also established 14 plus gold-silver targets that will require additional geological work to advance them to drill-ready stage, with an aim to drill them this year.

Multiple new gold and silver soil anomalies have been identified to the north of the Cliff Creek, Dukes Ridge-Phoenix, and AGB resource zones, extending mineralized trends to the northwest for over 2 km and remaining open, the firm said .

Benchmark is focused on developing the substantial resource potential of its huge Lawyers asset, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia.
