IQGeo Group PLC (LON:IQG) has appointed geospatial industry veteran Richard Weiss as European regional manager.
He has 25 years’ experience and joins from 3-GIS where he was managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
He brings with him a “wealth of international sales and business development experience, with extensive technical and product management expertise”, IQGeo said.
In past roles Weiss has built regional teams and “accelerated awareness and sales in markets around the world”, it added.
Chief executive Richard Petti said: “Rich joins IQGeo at a great time. Our existing European team has established a strong foundation with a growing utility and telecoms customer base and his industry and professional experience will help us increase our European market share.
“He will also be working with our global team to develop channel strategies for the distribution of our recently acquired OSPInsight software, which is ideally suited for the growing number of alternative network providers across Europe.”
IQGeo works with telecoms and utility companies to help them digitise their operational processes and capture their network assets.
Very simply, the firm's system ingests data to create a geospatially correct digital twin of a network that can be used by thousands of employees.
Not only that, but its functionality is also such that the mobile-first system can be used by maintenance technicians, sales, and even the accounts department.
