Aurelius Minerals latest drill assays extend high grade gold zone at Aureus East project, Nova Scotia

The company unveiled assays from two underground holes on Monday - part of its 6,000m program at the property

Aurelius Minerals Inc (CVE:AUL) (OTCMKTS:AURQF) (FRA:1GA) said it has increased the width, length, and thickness of a new high-grade gold zone from drilling at its Aureus East project in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The company unveiled assays from two underground holes on Monday - part of its 6,000 metres (m) program at the property - where 13 holes, both surface and underground - have been completed for around 5,800m.

Highlight results included 10.5m at a grade of 11.7 grams per ton (g/t) gold from a depth of 63m to 73.5m.

Another assay showed an intercept of 2.4m at 6.5 g/t gold, from 281.3m to 283.7m

"With today's results, we have laterally expanded the width of the Zone 9 high-grade gold zone," said Mark Ashcroft, CEO of Aurelius.

"A fan of six drill holes has encountered the zone where it was projected to occur. This zone is approximately 65m below the existing underground infrastructure and we have significantly increased its width, length, and thickness.

"The drill results demonstrated the presence of veins with a homogenous distribution of coarse gold mineralization; this greatly helps in our understanding of the overall mineralization patterns and geometry of the deposit."

The initial 6,000m drill program at Aureus East is part of an ongoing 10,000m Phase One program at Aureus East and West.

There are two rigs currently exploring, one from underground Pad 2 and a second rig on surface to the east of the mill and tailings facility.

Aurelius is currently drilling the tenth hole from underground at the Aureus East exploration program at the Pad 2 location.

Multiple new zones have been identified including the high-grade Zone 9, which to date has two multi-ounce gold intersections within a broader gold zone.

Jeremy Niemi, the group's vice-president of exploration, added that the company was "constantly improving our exploration practices".

"We are applying a variety of principles to improve drilling and our overall exploration approach. This includes using tighter drilling patterns to better understand the geometry of the gold system; and where possible, larger diameter drill core (HQ versus NQ), which capture a larger volume of rock."

The company is focused on advancing its Aureus gold properties, including Aureus East and West, the Tangier gold project and the Forest Hill gold project in the province of Nova Scotia.

It also holds the 968-hectares Mikwam property, in the Burntbush area on the Casa Berardi trend and the 12,425 hectare Lipton property, on the Lower Detour trend in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Ontario.
