Centralnic Group PLC - Zoom, Snowflake and Broadcom to report earnings

The week ahead

In the UK, the December final results season moves into full swing this week, with results from Craneware PLC (LON: CRW), Quartix Holdings plc (LON: QTX), Centralnic Group PLC ( LON:CNIC), Avast PLC (LON: AVST) and GetBusy PLC (LON: GETB).

Avast, the FTSE-100 cybersecurity provider, reports final results on Wednesday. In its third-quarter trading update in late October, the company said that due to strong demand in the second quarter, revenue growth is expected to continue to outpace billings growth in the second half of the year. Consequently, management reaffirmed its full-year (FY) 2020 outlook for adjusted revenue at the upper end of mid-single-digit growth and a broadly flat adjusted EBITDA (underlying earnings) margin.

Third-quarter (Q3) adjusted revenue rose by 8.6% on an organic basis to US$226.0mln, while nine-month revenue lifted by 7.3% on an organic basis to US$659.1mln.  Adjusted EBITDA increased by 3.3% in Q3 to US$126.0mln providing an adjusted EBITDA margin of 55.8%, while for the year to date, adjusted EBITDA increased by 2.5% to US$367.3mln (margin 55.7%).

GetBusy, which develops document management and task management software, is also scheduled to announce final results on Wednesday. In its trading update in late January, it said that group revenue was expected to be slightly ahead of market expectations, in spite of second-half currency headwinds. Group recurring revenue is expected to show 15% growth at constant currency driven by strong annual revenue per user and growth in total user numbers. New customer wins for both document management businesses in the final quarter were very strong and churn levels in the second half (H2) were lower than in H1, offsetting the early stage impacts of the pandemic. Year-end net cash of  £2.3mln was ahead of market expectations due to the earlier than expected receipt of research and development tax credits in the UK.

Across the pond, the key highlights are Zoom Video Communications which reports Q4 today, Snowflake, the cloud-based data-warehousing business that listed on the NYSE in December, which reports Q4 numbers on Wednesday, and Broadcom, the chipmaker giant, which reports Q1 earnings on Thursday.

Other tech-related companies expected to report this week include 3D Systems, Sciplay, Stratasys, Box, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Marvell Technology, Splunk, Yext, Okta, Jamf, Ciena, Guidewire Software, Veritone and Alphatec.

Additionally, Microsoft holds its Microsoft Ignite Digital event this week, with CEO, Satya Nadella, kicking off with his keynote on Tuesday. Meanwhile, AMD is expected to announce its latest RX 6000 GPUs at an event on Wednesday.
