Arcadia Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:RKDA) (FRA:17D) shares rose Wednesday as the agricultural biotech group said it had boosted its board with Debbie Carosella, a food industry executive and former manager at ConAgra Foods.
"Debbie is a proven leader in driving innovation and growth for consumer packaged goods companies," said Kevin Comcowich, chairman of Arcadia's board of directors, in a statement.

"With her broad expertise in business strategy, consumer marketing and brand development, she will be a valuable addition to the board as we execute our commercial strategy for GoodWheat and GoodHemp nutrition and health products."
Carosella, who becomes a director, is the former CEO of Madhava Natural Sweeteners, which provides natural alternatives to refined sugars and artificial sweeteners.
She was also previously the senior vice president of innovation for Dean Foods/ WhiteWave Foods, where she led the development of value-added brands.
Prior to that, Carosella was on the executive leadership team at ConAgra Foods where she was both a general manager and innovator for numerous brands in various food categories.
Arcadia Biosciences is focused on science-based approaches to enhancing the quality and nutritional value of crops and food ingredients.
Arcadia shares added over 8% in New York to $3.35 each.
