Melkior Resources Inc (CVE:MKR) (OTCMKTS:MKRIF) (FRA:MEK1) will kick off a 1,500 metres (m) maiden drill program at its Val-d'Or project in Quebec in early March this year, having secured a drill and defined the key targets.
The work will focus on the western extension of the so-called "Vein Zone" area, which is being explored by Eldorado Gold Corp (TSE:ELD) (NYSE:EGO) (FRA:ELO1) and where, in 2018/19, mineralization was uncovered along a 250m strike to a depth of 125m.

Melkior's property contains the western strike extension to that Eldorado discovery, noted Melkior.
"We are excited to commence our 1,500 meters maiden drill program at our Val D’Or project," said Jonathon Deluce, CEO of Melkior.
"Using the data from our till, IP and Mag surveys completed in 2020, we were able to review our results against neighbouring successful programs to put the strongest targets forward. We have recently seen an increase in M&A in the Val D’Or district, which highlights the continued exploration potential and interest from the intermediate/major producers."
Currently, targets finalized for the maiden drilling include low magnetic structures cross-cutting the main magnetic fabrics and a zone with multiple magnetic contrasts, which lies immediately on strike with the Bruell showing.
Also tested will be high conductive anomalies associated with the largest IP axis found on the property.
The Val-d'Or asset lies 35 kilometers (km) east from the town of Val d'Or and is accessible by a well-maintained dirt road, as well as logging roads. The 120 claims cover around 6,333.04 hectares (63.33 sq km).
