Tocvan Ventures begins the next phase of exploration at its Pilar Gold-Silver Project in Mexico

Tocvan said the program’s aim is to advance key targets to drill-ready status for a Phase II drill program planned in the next couple of months

Tocvan Ventures Corp (CSE:TOC) (FRA:TV3) announced that it has started the next phase of exploration at the company’s Pilar Gold-Silver Project in Mexico, which will include detailed mapping and sampling of key target areas.

Tocvan Ventures said the program’s aim is to advance key targets to drill-ready status for a Phase II drill program planned in the next couple of months.

“We are excited to have boots back on the ground at Pilar. The results released last week for our Phase I drill program show the potential to grow the known extent of mineralization at depth and along strike,” Tocvan Ventures Vice President of Exploration Brodie Sutherland said in a statement.

He added: “The high-grade gold and silver intercepts provide evidence for deep-rooted structures, which we are just starting to uncover. Detailed mapping and sampling of the surface expressions of these structures will aid in drill targeting as we move towards a Phase II drill program.”

“In addition, the 4 Trench Zone provides the opportunity to discover a parallel trend to the Main Zone of equal significance.”

The company noted that the key areas targeted for mapping and sampling include the 800-meter southeast extension of the Main Zone, in which a historic drill hole intersected 13.5 metres (m) of 5.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 22 g/t silver.

Tocvan will also focus on the 4 Trench area, which contains rock grab samples with assays of up to 24 g/t gold and 116 g/t silver.

Tocvan Ventures owns 100% of the Pilar project and was attracted initially to the asset by the amount of successful drilling on a very concentrated area. This spans 17,700m from surface to a maximum depth of just 150m, leading the company to believe the property hosts an at surface deposit, which is amenable to open-pit mining.

Three zones of mineralization have been identified in the north-west part of the property, referred to as the Main Zone, North Hill and 4 Trench. Over 19,200m of historic drilling have been completed to date.
