Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HL.) co-founder and former director Peter Hargreaves has pocketed nearly £300mln after selling a chunk of his shares.
Some 19,543,974 shares in the fund supermarket were sold at a price of £15.35 apiece. Last month the shares were close to £18.
Hargreaves, who since leaving the FTSE 100 group as a director has helped set up investment boutique Blue Whale Capital and donated millions to the Conservative party and the Leave.EU campaign, still owns 19.8% of the company he founded in 1981.
His net worth was calculated by the Sunday Times Rich List to be roughly £2.4bn as of last year.
