Molecular diagnostics specialist Genedrive PLC (LON:GDR) said it has made the first US shipments of its 96 SARS-CoV-2 Covid PCR kits following the completion of commercial and technical training with sales staff from partner Beckman Coulter.
This will allow Beckman to begin the ramp-up and commercial roll-out following the product’s launch on Wednesday.
Genedrive chief executive David Budd said: "This is an important milestone for Genedrive as the first shipments of our Genedrive 96 SAR-CoV-2 kit are exported to the US.
“We are very optimistic about the US market for Covid PCR testing and it has market drivers that are favourable to the adoption of the genedrive assay: efficiency, ease of use, automation-friendly, and scalability."
The 96 SARS-CoV-2 kit is said to be ideally suited for use on Beckman’s high throughput robotic Biomek i7 instrument.
