What it does
Karelian Diamond Resources PLC (LON:KDR) has several projects in Finland based on the diamond prospectivity of the Karelian Craton.
The Lahtojoki diamond project is situated in the Kuopio – Kaavi region of Finland.
The Seitaperä diamondiferous kimberlite pipe is located in Kuhmo, Eastern Finland, near the Russian border.
Karelian discovered a new kimberlite body at Riihivaara, southeast of Seitaperä in the Kuhmo area of Eastern Finland.
This was the first discovery of a kimberlite body in Finland in approximately 10 years.

Karelian Diamond Resources PLC (LON:KDR) had been granted additional reservations, adjacent to already held and known kimberlite bodies in Finland.
A formal right of way was also granted giving vehicular access to the Lahtojoki diamond deposit and surrounding areas.
Analysis of available data and reports in relation to Lahtojoki suggest that coloured stones could amount to as much as 7% of the diamond content of the deposit.
The company raised £420,000 in new money in August.

Karelian Diamonds Resources PLC (LON:KDR) has started fieldwork at the licence adjacent to its Lahtojoki deposit in Finland.
Kimberlite boulders have previously been discovered in the Lahtojoki South area, said Karelian, and the programme is designed to recover these.
Analysis has shown that the boulders are a type of Kimberlite unlikely to be derived from the Lahtojoki kimberlite and are likely to have originated from a yet to be discovered kimberlite body, up ice from the initial discovery site.
What management says
”The company has moved closer to the development of the diamond mine at Lahtojoki, and based on the data available we are confident that it has a significant proportion of high value coloured stones within the deposit,” said chairman Richard Conroy.
