HempFusion Wellness CMO Ola Lessard becomes first two-term president of advocacy group US Hemp Roundtable

The Roundtable is an influential non-profit group that lobbies for national hemp legislation in the US comprised of dozens of leading hemp and CBD companies

HempFusion Wellness Inc (TSE:CBD.U) (OTCMKTS:CBDHF) (FRA:8OO) announced Tuesday that chief marketing officer Ola Lessard was elected to a second consecutive term as president of the US Hemp Roundtable.

The Roundtable is an influential non-profit group that lobbies for national hemp legislation in the US and is comprised of dozens of leading hemp and CBD companies.

Lessard is the first woman and the first two-term president in the organization’s history.

Denver-based HempFusion has been a Roundtable member in good standing for over two years and has served on the Executive Board since June 2020.

“I am truly honored by the confidence my peers have shown in me by electing me to a second term as President of the US Hemp Roundtable,” Lessard said in a statement. “I strongly believe this organization will continue to be the driving force behind much of the legislative progress for hemp-derived products.”

According to Lessard, the Roundtable’s primary objective is to achieve full clarity for CBD as a dietary supplement, which she termed “an important and necessary step” for the entire hemp community to be able to achieve the industry’s full potential.

“I’m proud of the diversity the US Hemp Roundtable has actively sought out for Board representation and the industry as a whole,” Lessard added. The Roundtable’s 11 newly elected officers include five women, four people of color and one member of the LGBTQ community, according to a statement.

HempFusion’s CEO Jason Mitchell congratulated Lessard on an “incredible achievement.”

“We are proud to have her on the HempFusion team,” Mitchell told investors. “Additionally, this provides HempFusion a front row seat and unique insight into the regulatory developments at the FDA.”
