Talon Metals intersects semi-massive and disseminated sulphide at Tamarack nickel project in Minnesota

The hole was a 25m step out into an undrilled area on the northern part of the current resource area

Talon Metals Corp (TSE:TLO) (OTCMKTS:TLOFF) (FRA:TAO) is continuing its success at the drill bit with a new mineralized intercept from its Tamarack nickel-copper-cobalt project in Minnesota.

The company revealed Tuesday it had drilled a thick intercept of 110.7 metres (m) of semi-massive and disseminated sulphide mineralization at Tamarack.

The hole was a 25m step out into an undrilled area on the northern part of the current resource area, according to a company statement.

The intercept included 58.8m of 15 to 50% sulphide mineralization starting at 341m, while another intersect revealed a second interval of an additional 51.8m of around 10% sulphide mineralization and only 2m below the intercept above it.

Assays on the intersection are pending, Talon told shareholders.

"The more we learn about the Tamarack Nickel Project - even within the project's existing resource area - the better the project seems to get," said Brian Goldner, head of exploration for Talon in a statement.

"We are excited to have drilled this thick intercept of 110.7 meters of semi-massive and disseminated sulphide mineralization in the northern portion of the Tamarack Nickel project's resource area. In addition to successfully intercepting mineralization as predicted by the company's current resource model, we also intercepted 51.8 meters of disseminated sulphide mineralization below the current resource model."

Extension of mineralization

The latest drill hole was a 25m step out from historic drill hole 08TK0089, which intersected 83.5m of sulphide mineralization grading 3.5% nickel equivalent (NiEq) or 9.4% copper equivalent (CuEq), starting at 326m, including a semi-massive sulphide intercept of 50.9m at 4.8% NiEq or 12.7% CuEq, starting at 353.2m. Within the same drill hole, there was an additional lower interval of 70.5m 2.9% NiEq or 7.7% CuEq, starting at 412.5m.

These results confirm the extension of semi-massive sulphide mineralization in this location, Talon told shareholders.

The company plans to grow Tamarack’s current resource area towards the north and reduce the timeline to production.

Last week, Talon released an updated economic report that increased overall tonnage at Tamarack and improved the net present value to US$569 million.
