Gold Resource Corp further bolsters Mexico aims by adding Ron Little to its board

Geologist and engineer Little, who brings over 35 years of 'know-how' to the table, was the founder of Orezone Resources Inc

Gold Resource Corporation (NYSEAMERICAN:GORO) (FRA:GIH) has further bolstered its Mexico mining aims by adding experienced resource executive Ron Little as a board director.

Geologist and engineer Little brings over 35 years of 'know-how' to the table and was the founder of Orezone Resources Inc, which was sold to IAMGOLD in 2008, creating Orezone Gold Corp, of which Little was president and CEO until 2017.

"Little's background as an engineer, combined with the backgrounds of Ms Lila A. Manassa Murphy, Mr Joseph Driscoll and Mr. Allen Palmiere, the new board members added to Gold Resource Corporation's board of directors in late December, position the company to optimize its strategy of reinvesting in its Oaxaca, Mexico asset," GORO said in a statement on Monday.

"Their collective expertise will assist in the development of the company's objectives of best-in-class governance and operational excellence."

Gold Resource Corp underwent a shift in focus recently. Having been a company with producing operations in Nevada and Mexico, it spun out its Nevada unit into a separate public company and is now focused solely on Mexico. Allen Palmiere is its new chief executive.

Last week, there was positive news from its flagship Mexico asset, when it reported drilling hit further mineralization above areas which are currently being exploited at its Aguila project.

Underground drilling at the Don David mine, in the footwall development ramp of the mine's Switchback vein system, and to the northeast of the Arista vein system, saw 12 holes confirming the northern strike and up-dip extensions of the mineralized system.
