ImagineAR Inc (CSE:IP) (OTCMKTS:IPNFF) (FRA:GMS1) has added experienced technology executive Masa Ishimitsu to its team to spearhead the augmented reality company’s move into Japan.
Ishimitsu, who is the former president of Solo Cup Japan & Asia Pacific Limited and SPXFlow Technology Japan, joins the Vancouver-based company as an advisor to CEO Alen Paul Silverrstieen.
The executive has significant ties to Canada, having graduated from the University of Victoria in British Columbia before spending over 35 years in international business.

In a statement Monday, ImagineAR said it believes Ishimitsu will “significantly accelerate” the company’s sales and marketing efforts throughout Japan and the Asian region.
Ishimitsu called ImagineAR’s platform the “most advanced AR platform in the market today.”
“I am excited to launch the company's sales and marketing initiatives in Japan,” Ishimitsu said in a statement. “Its simple platform means that organizations can almost instantly start engaging their customers and fans at a time when recovery and renewed market positions are essential. As consumers are slowly returning to stores and sports are coming back, information, offers and simple engagement will need to be more dynamic and shareable."
According to Ishimitsu, the AR industry in Japan is still at a very early stage of development, which could mean potentially a great opportunity for ImagineAR to capture market share.
“ImagineAR lets marketing ideas get creative and conversations around brands to escalate, enabling experimentation at value and speed unlike other current AR solutions … I am truly excited to be a part of Imagine AR's team to develop the business in Japan."
"Mr. Ishimitsu brings an impressive track record of success with major international companies expanding into Japan," Alen Paul Silverrstieen, Imagine AR’s CEO told investors. "ImagineAR will continue our aggressive global expansion this year."
