Viscount Mining set to start second phase of drilling in Colorado next month

The second phase of work will be focused on expanding the silver resource to the east, continue to define the Kate East zone, with additional drilling at the Passiflora target

Viscount Mining Corp (CVE:VML) (OTCQB:VLMGF) told investors further drilling is planned to begin at its Silver Cliff property in Colorado in February this year, as the company updated on activity at the project to date.

This second phase of work will be focused on expanding the silver resource to the east, continue to define the Kate East zone, with additional drilling at the Passiflora target, the company said.

A third phase will begin in mid to late summer 2021, with targets being developed, based on the spring program.

The aim behind the firm's 2020/2021 drill campaign was to expand the previously defined Kate resource, aiming to add to the earlier resource estimate of the KSR/Kate deposit and to further outline the South Kate high-grade zone and assess any other promising targets.

Today, Viscount confirmed that the silver assay results from last year's drilling at the Kate resource area have been completed, and "met and exceeded" its expectations.

Four holes were drilled east of the Kate decline with very encouraging results, finding evidence that the higher-grade zone may be continuous, the company said.

One hole encountered 99.6 grams per ton (g/t) of silver over 21.5m, with higher concentrations of silver of 137.9 g/t between 19.5m and 25.3m, and 202.7 g/t silver from 35.4m and 41.1m.

All holes drilled in the Kate East zone encountered significantly higher grade than the cut-off grade of 35 g/t used in previous estimates, it highlighted.

Five exploration holes were also drilled to determine the most favorable directions to start expanding the Kate resource area and there are good indications that it can be extended in three directions, it added.

Earlier drilling in 2016 and 2017 had been to confirm and clarify limited historic data, while the aim of the 2020 program was to try to step out from the known resource area and increase grade and tonnage.

Silver Cliff sits in the historic Hardscrabble silver district in Custer county and boasts year-round access by paved road. It comprises over 2,300 hectares where high-grade silver, gold and base metals were produced from 1878 to the early 1900s.

Viscount Mining is a project generator and an exploration company with a portfolio of silver and gold properties in the western US, including Silver Cliff in Colorado and Cherry Creek in Nevada.
