Alpine 4 Technologies lands the second of two patents for Brake Active rear-end avoidance collision product

Chief executive Kent Wilson said: "Automotive products reside in a US$20 billion market, and as we progress towards smarter and safer cars, products like Brake Active have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives"

Alpine 4 Technologies Ltd (OTCQB:ALPP) said it has received the second of two patents filed around its Brake Active rear-end avoidance collision product, the first having been approved last October.

Brake Active enhances braking safety by pulsing the third brake light when a driver's foot presses the brake pedal.

In a statement, Alpine 4 chief executive Kent Wilson said: "Automotive products reside in a US$20 billion market, and as we progress towards smarter and safer cars, products like Brake Active have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

“Our patent approval finalization gives Alpine 4 a strong competitive advantage, and we are very excited about where Brake Active can go. I feel that some of the largest opportunities that lay ahead for this technology will reside in the licensing of the IP directly to manufacturers, who will deploy Brake Active directly into their product lineups, potentially realizing tens of millions of Brake Active units sold annually.”

Alpine 4 is a diversified technology holding company that acquires businesses that fit into what it considers a “disruptive DSF” business model: Drivers, Stabilizers and Facilitators.

Drivers are companies that Alpine 4 believes are on the cusp of growth, with huge upside potential for market share and revenue generation, for example, its subsidiary ALTIA, which operates in a $9 billion market space.

Stabilizers are companies that have sticky customers, consistent revenue, and provide solid net profit returns, while Facilitators such as its subsidiary Quality Circuit Assembly are companies that have synergistic relevance to the first two categories.
