Remote Monitored Systems plc (LON:RMS) said its subsidiary Pharm 2 Farm Ltd (P2F) has received a report from lab testing firm Eurofins confirming that its face mask has been certified as meeting the EN14683 standard for medical face masks after passing a biocompatibility test.
The AIM-listed firm said the certification means that once in production the mask can now be sold in the UK and Europe as a viricidal Type IIR mask.

Meanwhile, RMS said commissioning of a mask manufacturing machine at BioCity in Nottingham commenced this week but is taking longer than anticipated as parts have been delayed in transport from Spain and will extend into early next week, pushing back the start of production and reducing the number of masks that can be produced before the end of January. The firm said it will provide further updates in due course.
"Achieving the EN14683 standard is a great step forward as this was a key factor for potential customers and the sales effort can now begin in earnest. The delay in commissioning, caused by customs and transport difficulties in Europe, has been very frustrating but it now should be just a matter of a few days to complete the work", RMS chairman Antony Legge said in a statement.
Shares in RMS jumped 10% to 3.1p in late-afternoon trading on Friday.
