Petra Diamonds Ltd (LON:PDL) has said its first-half production was down 16% to 1,740,862 carats, as the Williamson mine in Tanzania remains on care and maintenance.
Increased production at Cullinan was offset by decreased production at Finsch due to waste ingress in a number of the upper levels of the Block 5 Sub Level Cave, negatively impacting the recovered grade.
Revenue in the half-year to December 31, 2020, was down 8% to US$178.1mln.
The US$40.4mln proceeds from the exceptional Letlapa Tala Collection of blue diamonds was offset by weaker prices following the coronavirus outbreak.
Consolidated net debt at as of December 31, 2020, stood at US$695.5mln, with restructuring ongoing.
