Indiana Resources finds unassayed historic diamond core from Minos prospect

The hole was drilled adjacent to existing reverse circulation drill holes within the prospect and was drilled to provide samples for metallurgical test-work.

Indiana Resources Ltd’s (ASX:IDA) (FRA:GDM) technical team has discovered uncut and unassayed diamond drill core from the Minos prospect within the SA Core Reference Library at Tonsley, South Australia.

The HQ core hole (THDD-066) was drilled at the prospect within Indiana’s 100%-owned 5,090 square kilometres Central Gawler Craton Gold Project.

The core hole was drilled on the 600 section line at Minos and was likely drilled to provide samples for metallurgical test-work.

Historic results

Core is intact and unassayed and was adjacent to existing reverse circulation (RC) drill holes within the prospect.

Historic significant drilling intercepts on Section 600 adjacent to the hole include:

  • 7 metres at 1.74 g/t gold;
  • 18 metres at 1.05 g/t;
  • 5 metres at 7.32 g/t;
  • 10 metres at 4.64 g/t; and
  • 4 metres at 3.32g/t.

“Very exciting to have this core”

Indiana’s executive chairman Bronwyn Barnes said: “It is very exciting to have located this uncut and unassayed diamond drill core that was historically completed adjacent to some excellent drill sections at Minos.

“We look forward to receiving assay results in the next few weeks that will further aid our understanding of the mineralisation at Minos.”

Core cutting underway

Permission to remove, cut and sample the core has been received from the Core Reference Library which now retains the core.

Core cutting is underway and samples will be despatched for assay this week.

The company is expecting results within two to three weeks.
