Galileo Mining continues soil sampling at Norseman Project ahead of drilling programs

The Norseman Project occurs at the southern end of the prolific Norseman-Wiluna greenstone belt in WA with numerous nickel, gold and lithium mines in the area.

Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX:GAL) continues to progress its soil sampling program at the Norseman Project in Western Australia with multi-element assays received from 1,620 unique sample locations.

Interpretation and evaluation of results is ongoing with a 52 element, raw geochemical data set for each sample.

The integration of new hyperspectral data with existing data sets is expected to generate focus areas for nickel targeting and further details regarding follow-up exploration programs, including any planned drilling programs, will be released to the market when available.

German contractor engaged to collect data

Soil sampling at Norseman was primarily undertaken to identify areas with prospectivity for nickel sulphide mineralisation.

Integration of soil sampling data with geophysical data, hyperspectral data, geological data, topographical data and satellite imagery will now be undertaken to give the sample assays context and meaning.

On December 15, 2020, DiMap Sepctral GmbH, a German specialist remote sensing company was contracted to collect hyperspectral data and to integrate the new mineral mapping information with existing data sets, including the recently received soil assays.

Drill programs scheduled for Q2, 2021

The initial phase of this contract has been completed with the collection of the airborne data. Data interpretation utilising machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) software is ongoing.

A follow-up exploration program will be devised upon the completion of all data integration and analysis, which is expected to occur in late February with the results to be utilised in the planning of drill programs scheduled for the June quarter of 2021.
