Northstar Gold Corp (CSE:NSG) reported Monday that it had uncovered eight new targets on its Miller gold property in Ontario thanks to machine learning-based work conducted by GoldSpot Discoveries Corp.
The Vancouver-based company said that machine learning stochastic cluster analysis and final 3D inversions by GoldSpot in 2020 revealed multiple anomalies bearing a similar signature as known gold-bearing syenites on the Miller property.
Miller is situated 18 kilometres southeast of Kirkland Lake Gold's Macassa SMC gold mine in Ontario. Northstar recently revealed the Allied Syenite gold zone, returning intercepts that include 19.4 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 4.4 metres within 1.4 g/t gold over 118.5 metres and 4.7 g/t gold over 8 metres within a 107.3 metre interval averaging 1.2 g/t gold.

CEO Brian Fowler told shareholders that the technology suggests that the gold system at Miller is much larger than what was previously thought.
“GoldSpot has identified no less than eight new syenite gold exploration targets along two property-wide trends, providing numerous drill targets that can potentially result in a number of new gold discoveries on the property," Fowler said in a statement.
GoldSpot deployed its new technology MinusOne, a deterministic and stochastic inversion tool for gravity and magnetic data, on Miller’s geophysical datasets.
“Eight newly defined machine learning cluster anomalies represent prime gold exploration targets on the Miller Gold Property,” GoldSpot CEO Vincent Dubé-Bourgeois told investors.
Northstar recently closed a C$2.4 million financing that leaves it fully funded for an upcoming Phase II, 3,000 metre diamond drill program, according to Fowler. The program, which will test the new targets and expand a recent discovery at the Allied gold zone, is slated to kick off early this year.
