Poseidon Nickel Ltd (ASX:POS) (OTCMKTS:PSDNF) has begun the construction of the Golden Swan Drill Drive, through its contractor WesttAuz Mining, to develop the 400 metres drill drive from Silver Swan decline to facilitate resource definition and ongoing exploration drilling.
The contractor has mobilised personnel and equipment to Black Swan and fired the first cut on Tuesday, December 8.
The drill drive, which is expected to be completed in February 2021, will provide a platform for resource definition drilling of Golden Swan.
Golden Swan Drill Drive
The drill drive is being developed in competent footwall felsic rocks and when completed will be positioned about 200 metres from the known mineralisation to provide a platform for resource definition drilling of Golden Swan and additional exploration drilling of the highly prospective Southern Terrace.
Once the Golden Swan Drill Drive is completed, the company will immediately commence resource definition drilling on the Golden Swan mineralisation.
Tender submissions for the resource drilling have been received and the preferred contractor has been notified.
Another milestone
Poseidon’s managing director and CEO Peter Harold said “The commencement of the Golden Swan Drill Drive is another milestone at Black Swan and, once completed, will allow us to drill out the known Golden Swan mineralisation in a rapid and efficient manner.
“In addition, the Golden Swan Drill Drive will provide an excellent location to further drill test for potential extensions of Golden Swan and for other mineralised zones within the Southern Terrace.
“Importantly, the Golden Swan Drill Drive will enable the rapid exploitation of the Golden Swan mineralisation, if it is proven to be economically viable.”
