In the same period, revenue jumped 10% to £103mln while profit before tax climbed 43% to £14mln thanks to disciplined cost management and cost savings brought by coronavirus restrictions such as travel.
The AIM-listed firm said growth was underpinned by a strong performance in the US from a specific one-off customer project, which is not expected to continue into the second half of the year.
Net debt at period-end was £2mln, down from £53mln a year ago.
The group, which helps organisations validate and verify the identity and location of their customers, reiterated guidance for the full year, anticipating revenue to be marginally ahead of last year on an underlying basis.
